Abeka/ICA of CATCH Dual Enrollment Program11th & 12th grade
ICA of CATCH offers a dual enrollment program in partnership with Abeka Academy for 11th- and 12th-grade students. Through this program, eligible students can work toward earning a fully accredited U.S. high school diploma issued by Abeka Academy.
Accredited diploma status applies only to students who are officially enrolled in Abeka Academy's accredited program while receiving academic support and oversight through ICA of CATCH.
Why and How
Why Choose the Accredited Program?
The accredited option provides students with formal academic documentation that can make it easier to demonstrate completion of secondary education when applying to colleges and universities worldwide. For students planning to apply to a university in Italy, the Abeka Academy transcript and accredited U.S. high school diploma provide important official documentation for the application and qualification-evaluation process. Italian universities determine admission and recognition requirements individually, so students should always confirm the specific requirements of the university and degree program they plan to attend
How Does It Work?
Students in 11th and/or 12th grade may enroll in the Abeka Academy accredited track while also participating in the ICA of CATCH dual program. Abeka Academy maintains the student's accredited academic record and, upon successful completion of all graduation requirements, issues the official transcript and diploma. ICA of CATCH provides local academic support, oversight, and a Certificate of Completion.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate with a diploma from the Abeka Academy Accredited Program, seniors must: • Be enrolled in grade 12 for a full academic year, with a start date no later than November 15. • Earn a total of 24 credits, including at least 4 credits from Abeka Academy courses during grade 12. • Required Courses for Abeka Academy: Accredited High School Diploma 4 credits in Bible 1 credit in Practical/Performing Arts 4 credits in English 1 credit in Physical Education 4 credits in Math 1 credit in Algebra 1 credit in Plane Geometry 2 credits in math electives 3½ credits in History 1 credit in World History 1 credit in U.S. History ½ credit in American Government ½ credit in Economics ½ credit in history elective 3 credits in Science 1 credit in Biology 2 credits in science electives (2 of the 3 credits with lab component) 2½ elective credits 1 credit in Spanish (can be taken in grades 10–12)
Accredited Program Benefits
By enrolling in the Abeka Academy Accredited Program, students receive: • An official transcript and high school diploma from Abeka Academy. • A Certificate of Completion from ICA of CATCH. • The option to participate in the Abeka Academy graduation ceremony at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, USA, as well as the ICA of CATCH graduation ceremony in Rome, Italy The Accredited option makes meeting state or college-entry requirements worldwide easier, especially for Italian universities. In Italy, universities require students to have a recognized diploma or a similar qualification, and the Abeka Academy Accredited program and/or Cambridge A level provide the official documentation necessary to meet these requirements for university enrollment.
